McCarter Construction

The Hide in Croxton (Norfolk/Suffolk border) is an exclusive, highly rated architectural cabin on the edge of the King’s Forest. Surrounded by nature, it features open-plan interiors, stone cladding, and direct access to local wildlife.

McCarter Construction project managed this complex build of over 3,000 sq ft with a dedicated team on site throughout. The result was a completion timeline of just 13 months – a remarkable achievement for a project of this scale and ambition.

From groundworks through to final finish, we managed the entire build process, coordinating all trades and ensuring that the demanding specification – including the dark timber rainscreen cladding, larch feature panels, and large-format glazing – was executed to the highest standard. Working within a rural setting brought its own logistical challenges, all of which we navigated to keep the project on track and on programme.

The result is a home that sits quietly and confidently in its landscape – and a build we’re enormously proud to have been part of.
